Kia Kaha Presentation
We created a Class Google Docs presentation and wrote down some key messages that we had learnt about Kia Kaha. Some Children were able to use different coloured writing, add pictures and use fancy transitions. Our next step will be to learn about different page layouts and how to clearly get our message across without the page looking too cluttered.

World Happiness Day
Our first class project on Google Docs was to create a presentation about World Happiness Day. We each had our own slide and we wrote about things that make us happy.
Please leave a comment and let us know what you think about our first attempt at creating a Google Doc presentation :)

Fonterra Milk in Schools Programme
We are very fortunate to be participating in the Fonterra Milk for Schools Programme. Each day at 10am we get fresh cold milk delivered to our classroom for us to drink. Once we have consumed our milk, there is a special recycling process that we need to follow. Here are some pictures of us enjoying our milk.
What are your thoughts on the Fonterra Milk in Schools Programme?

TERM 1 2014: KIA KAHA
In Term 1, we looked at the concept of Kia Kaha (standing strong) and standing up for what we believe in. We looked at different types of bullying scenarios and how we would demonstrate Kia Kaha in these situations. Friendships was also an area that we looked at and we discussed the ideal qualities that are needed to make and keep our friends. Our class waka (canoe) that we created is to demonstrate that we are a team and that we all need to work together in order to move forward with our learning. If one person is not pulling their weight then we will just go around in circles and get nowhere.
What other key messages did you learn in Term 1? Post your ideas below.
